B-1B Bombers Execute Bomber Task Force (BTF) Missions in US Southern Command

   

The US Air Force (USAF) International Military B-1B Lancer Bomber carries out Bomber Task Force (BTF) missions in the area of ​​responsibility of US Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM).

In addition to maintaining regional security, this mission is also to improve the ability to respond to illegal fishing. The aircraft deployed were from the 7th Operations Group at Dyess Air Force Base (Dyess AFB).

Quoted from USSOUTHCOM, this kind of regional military engagement strengthens the USAF’s partnership with Ecuador and Panama. It also improves interoperability and improves collective preparedness for various potential future operations, including disaster relief and humanitarian assistance missions.

As part of this operation, crew of B-21 bombers carried out aerial refueling exercises from tanker aircraft based at MacDill AFB.

The BTF’s mission aims to increase the nation’s commitment to their allies and partner countries to maintain security and stability in the region.

7th Bomber Wing Commander Colonel Joseph Kramer said the bomber mission demonstrated the ability to respond to threats in a complex, dynamic and volatile global security environment.
