Bali Paws’ rescue workers have united their efforts to save numerous abused animals, and witnessing these adorable canines flourish in their new forever homes makes all their endeavors truly worthwhile!
One day, a member of their team stumbled upon a little hairless pup. She had been abandoned and was hiding in a dog house in front of a property. Despite their expertise, her rescuers were taken aback by her condition.
The pup was suffering from a severe case of mange, which had left her bald and in pain. She also had an eye infection.
Desi, a rescue worker, explained that the poor girl had spent her entire life in a cage while being used for breeding. Her captors abandoned her on the street once she “wasn’t cute and healthy anymore.” Desi, however, managed to coax her out of hiding and immediately began showering her with all the love and attention she desired.
“She was super calm the moment I grabbed her,” Desi said. “I believe she knew I wouldn’t hurt her.”
They named the dog Lucy Ray, and once her physical issues were resolved, her true personality emerged! Her rescuers described her as “extremely sweet” and “always wanting to cuddle.”
Over the next seven weeks, she grew healthier and gained weight. She also got acquainted with other dogs, learned to walk on grass, and experienced her first taste of a loving home.
All of this was great preparation because Bali Paws quickly found her a lovely forever home in Centreville, Virginia, all the way across the world!
The moment Matt and Brianna saw Lucy Ray’s images and heard her story, they knew she had to be in their lives. They fell in love with the small dog as soon as she arrived!
“We were both madly in love with her,” Brianna explained. “She was just so adorable, and we felt like she simply bonded to our hearts right away and pretended to be ours.”
Lucy Ray is now one of the most spoiled dogs in the world! According to her Instagram, she “moved from Bali streets to silky sheets,” and she couldn’t be happier!
“She definitely shows us how much she loves and appreciates us, and we reciprocate because we love her more than anything,” Matt said.
Brianna stated that they are constantly amazed by their pet’s ability to forgive and move on from her traumatic beginnings in life. “I think it’s miraculous that she’s so sweet, loving, and trusting of us after everything she’s been through.”
