The Rock was upfront about his love for a referee.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has made his big comeback to the WWE ring, but it wasn’t without its spicier moments.
At WrestleMania 40, The Rock was centre stage as he took on Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
Helping him out was WWE’s Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Johnson hadn’t entered the ring in eight years before this.
At WrestleMania 32, he triumphed against Erick Rowan in his previous match.
In his most recent brawl, the 51-year-old got physical with the referee and seemed to brag about his influence ever since he became a member of TKO Holdings’ board of directors this year.
Initially, he threatened to “fire” the official if he continued to count anyone out.
And with that, he yelled, “I’m not f**king around!”
WWE decided to end the contentious exchange while the Jumanji star persisted in her tirade.
Note that there is some severe language in the video below.
Fresh language is nothing new for The Rock when he makes an appearance in a wrestling match.
“This is what happens when you …. with The Final Boss!” he yelled during a RAW episode in which he pounded Rhodes.
There have been rumors that WWE, which is attempting to keep a TV-PG classification, is having trouble due to the Rock’s strong language.
Johnson disputes this, though. In response to a tweet, he called the article “horses**t” and stated, “TKO would like the Rock to follow (and set a good example) it’s guidelines of TV-PG product.”
This is not the first verbal altercation that Johnson has been involved in recently.
While he was at a WWE Hall of Fame ceremony earlier this week, footage of a heated altercation with a fan went viral.
Johnson was introducing his late grandmother into the Hall of Fame, a prestigious organization for professional wrestling.
Following her takeover of his grandfather’s Hawaiian wrestling firm, Johnson would refer to his grandmother as a “pioneer in our business of professional wrestling.”
Following his statement, Johnson spoke with a fan in the audience who had some thoughts regarding Rhodes and his impending battle.
“Cody’s coming for you,” the fan seemed to taunt, and The Rock had him repeat himself.
The man in the crowd said, “You sold out,” in response to Johnson’s request that he elaborate on what he had said.
The WWE veteran shot back, saying, “That’s right, that’s what I f**king thought.” Keep your mouth shut, please.”
That fan is most likely having a good slice of humble pie after The Rock won big last night.
More than two decades have passed since Johnson’s rise to fame as a professional wrestler.
Even though he’s now well-known in Hollywood, millions of people still know him from his professional wrestling days.
It’s understandable that he’s been dubbed The Great, given his projected net worth of $800 million and the highest number of social media followers of any American male.
