Adopting a puppy will always be a noble act. I can’t imagine the happiness a dog feels when entering a warm home after spending countless nights on the cold streets.

Sadly, Stella was one of those dogs who were not lucky enough to have a family to care for her. So she had to do it on her own.
In addition to looking for scraps to eat, this poor dog also had to find shelter to stay safe. However, sleeping in garbage bags is not safe at all…
Despite her bad luck, this adorable dog never lost hope and knew deep down in her heart that someone would come to rescue her.
And she was right! An amazing woman named Heather Martin was looking for a furry member to add to her human family.
When a friend told her about Stella, she knew she had to meet her.
“A coworker told me about Pooches oᴜt of Puerto Rico, so my husband and I looked into it. We fell in love [with Stella] instantly,” Heather said.
As soon as they met, they instantly clicked. Heather described Stella as a “loving, sweet, playful, curious dog who loves being out in the sun” and we’re sure Stella had some sweet barks for Heather too.
Deciding to adopt Stella, Heather took her to the vet for a necessary and complete checkup.
Stella was abandoned in a landfill and somehow survived by sleeping in garbage bags and eating whatever she could find. She had extreme mange, roundworms, hookworms, and scabies. She only weighed 9 pounds when she was rescued.
Being the brave girl that she is, Stella recovered in no time and was very excited about her new life.
Surrounded by so much love and affection, Stella seemed like a completely different dog.
Stella was super healthy and loved to play. That’s why Heather decided she needed a furry companion to keep up with her. She went to the local shelter and got Stella a dog sister named Lulu.
Stella and Lulu became best friends, filling the house with nothing but irresistible doggy joy.
Stella has been a ray of sunshine. [She] knows when we need love and she embraces us. She wants nothing but love and she really is perfect.
Luckily, Stella was lucky enough to meet someone as amazing as Heather to get her off the streets and into a loving home.
But not all dogs meet this fate. A frightening number of dogs are still forced to live on the streets and fight for scraps to survive. Any form of help, however small it may seem, can have a significant impact on their lives.
Together, let’s extend a helping paw to our local shelters, hostels, and these furry souls and make a difference in their world.
