Some fishermen in the port of Owase, Mie Prefecture, Japan were surprised when they caught a giant wide-mouth shark.
This wide mouth shark weighs 1 ton and is about 5 meters long.
The fish was sold to a local fishmonger.
The above shark has the scientific name Megamouth.
Since 1976, people have discovered a total of about 60 individuals of widemouth sharks.
The majority of the widemouth sharks are found in the waters off Japan and the Philippines.
The main food of the broadmouth shark is plankton.
