Cara was walking down the road when she saw a familiar stray dog wagging its tail and approaching her. This was a dog she often fed, and the last time she had seen it, its belly was noticeably swollen. Now, the dog seemed to be seeking her help, bowing its head and leading her somewhere. Cara guessed the dog might have recently given birth.

The stray dog walked ahead, occasionally looking back to make sure Cara was following. After a while, it stopped at a secluded spot and crouched down, as if showing her where its puppies were hidden. Cara knelt down and peeked into the crevice, discovering a litter of tiny puppies. Unable to touch them, she decided to return home to prepare some food. Cara cooked a chicken leg and some porridge, bringing it back for the mother dog.

When she returned, the mother dog came out cautiously to eat, but she remained protective, blocking Cara’s view of the puppies. The next day, Cara prepared fish soup and chicken breast to help the mother regain her strength after giving birth. Hearing Cara’s voice, the dog emerged from the crevice, eating the food eagerly. Cara noticed how carefully the mother had chosen a hidden spot to protect her litter.

However, the environment was harsh, and Cara and her husband decided to bring the mother dog and her puppies home. Soon, they grew more adventurous, wandering into the hallway to enjoy the cool breeze. Cara loved playing with them, especially the light yellow puppy that kicked its legs in delight when she scratched its belly.

Two months later, the puppies had grown significantly. With their round faces and playful energy, they were irresistible. Cara found loving homes for four of the puppies, as she already had several large dogs and couldn’t care for them all. She decided to keep one brown-coated puppy and named it Brownie.

Brownie stayed with its mother and received all her love and attention. It quickly became attached to Cara, running to her whenever she called.
