Marco’s face was swollen to an alarming size and his injuries were severe and untreated. The puppy, who was once a puppy, had been left suffering in the sun, with his entire body affected.
“He was in really bad shape, his face was swollen to about five times its normal size,” SRSL shared in the Facebook post. The severity of Marco’s condition was immediately apparent and the team knew they had to act quickly to save him.

The rescue team freed Marco from the fence and rushed him to the vet’s office. The prognosis was clear: Marco had developed an infection and was in critical condition. He spent months in the clinic, receiving intravenous fluids, antibiotics and other treatments to stabilize his condition.
