We all know that dogs have a special sensitivity to the pain of those around them; they are capable of  offering us comfort and love  when we need it most. This is what the animals of this species, known for their incomparable loyalty, have shown us.

Some are trained to dedicate themselves to  emotionally supporting those who have suffered  traumatic experiences, losses, grief, or even some emotional disorder or special condition.

Children and adults benefit from the accompaniment of these dogs who visit hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, and who comfort those who serve in their country’s army.

A week ago, a tragic event  unjustly ended the lives of 19 children,  students between second and fourth grade at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and 2 of their teachers.

After experiencing such a traumatic situation,  many families need to receive psychological support  to be able to recover.

Therefore, when the funerals have begun to say goodbye to those who lost their lives in this unfortunate event, the Confort Dog Ministry foundation  moved emotional support dogs to Uvalde.

“The doctors of the spirit”  are trained so that everyone who needs it can vent, cry with them, and with a simple caress or gesture of affection find in those innocent and adorable beings, a balm for their broken heart.

Abner, Gabriel, Tritón, Joy and other dogs  traveled from Houston, Austin, Carolina and Oklahoma  to provide their support to the families and friends of the victims, and to those who witnessed the sad event.

They know these little dogs  as “the heroes of the soul” , they are prepared to comfort the spirit of those who suffer.

Surely after an episode like the one they experienced in primary school a week ago, many families  are suffering physical symptoms  caused by anxiety, sadness, helplessness and the deep pain of having witnessed an injustice of such magnitude.

Sometimes, post-traumatic stress can wreak havoc on your physical and emotional health. During the early stages of grief, it is crucial to receive therapeutic tools.

Parents who have lost their little ones  face one of the most painful situations  that human beings can suffer, an immense pain that has no cure.

They need their emotions to be validated, to be offered support and accompaniment in this very difficult time and, furthermore, it is  a loss with many traumatic elements  that can end in a complicated grief that has devastating consequences.

That is why the therapy they offer is so important and  the presence of these dogs will surely be very helpful  for them and for the children who witnessed the sad event.

Jenny Cook, assistant at Confort Dog Ministry, told the media that  they feel blessed to collaborate  with the Uvalde community in Texas.

Regarding the puppies, he said that they were fully prepared to comfort everyone’s soul and be a balm on the broken hearts of the affected families.

All the  dogs  traveled to Texas ready to transmit all the love they harbor inside, to give many caresses and to  listen and dry the tears  of those who approach them.

In the final goodbye to the people who lost their lives at the elementary school a week ago, emotional support dogs will be a light of hope,  a  special comfort  for the parents  and classmates of the little ones.

Also, for  teachers  and all family and friends. In the eyes of support dogs  you can see the tenderness with which they comfort those who suffer.

The work that this foundation does to contribute its grain of sand is admirable; there have been many displays of  solidarity  towards those affected by this unfortunate event that shocked the entire world.
