Both locals and scientists are puzzled by the phenomenon of thousands of fish appearing in the river and then suddenly disappearing mysteriously.
This strange phenomenon happened on September 2 in the river in Buddina in Queensland, Australia. Thousands of fish for unknown reasons appeared in the river, and then suddenly disappeared without a trace.
Local people took pictures of this unusual phenomenon, they said they had never witnessed such an event.
A resident named Susan Sheard said she had never experienced anything like it in her 10 years living on the beach.
“Some of the fish were still alive, they flipped around. I threw a few back but they were too many to throw,” Susan said.
After that, all the fish mysteriously disappeared.
Even environmental experts are equally bewildered by this mysterious phenomenon. Jeff Johnson, a ichthyologist at the Queensland Museum, said the event was “very unusual”.
