These are the incredible pictures of one girl overcoming her phobia of snakes by having a massage with immense Burmese pythons.

Sunshine, a 19-year-old college student in Cebu, Philippines, is terrified of snakes and was initially horrified that snake massages even existed.

With the help of photographer Ian MacLean, she overcame her fear and lay down for a massage with four Burmese pythons as big as 18 feet in length and with a combined weight of over 250 kilograms.

Ian said: “I mentioned to her about the snake massage service at the Cebu City Zoo in the Philippines.

“She was horrified that this kind of massage even existed as she is deathly afraid of snake but after a long chat with Giovanni Romarate, the Zoo’s manager, she had a massage to overcome her fear.

“She was assured that the snakes had been fed a meal of 10 chickens each, so there was nothing to fear.

“She was trembling at the start but after feeling less threatened she began to appreciate the animals and their beauty which she could see clearly when she was with them up close.

“She began petting and stroking them and after the 15 minute massage she became more comfortable and she’d bonded with them and even started to enjoy it.

“The Zoo Manager was right. She enjoyed the experience so much, is no longer afraid and wants to share it with her friends!”
