The miraculous recovery journey of a thin dog after being starved for many days by his owner

Seven weeks ago, a starved and emaciated dog was found in Granada, Spain. The poor dog was so weak that he could not stand up on his own due to hunger and thirst and had likely suffered from long-term abuse.

Seeing the weak and abandoned dog, Eduardo Rodriguez and his wife, Carolina Lopez Gonzalez, decided to adopt the poor 10-month-old creature, even though veterinarians were not even sure if the dog would survive.

Seeing the bones imprinted on the dog’s skin, Mr. Rodriguez and his wife named it Spaghetti with the hope that it would live a prosperous and healthy life.

Because his body was so weak, the vets didn’t even dare to satisfy Spaghetti’s hunger directly. They had to give him IV fluids and nutrients for 6 hours before they could start feeding him. During the entire treatment, Spaghetti could only look up at the doctors with his big round eyes and wag his tail gently to show his gratitude.

When he was first adopted, Spaghetti weighed less than 7.5kg. The staff at the animal protection and rescue center judged that this dog could die at any moment due to exhaustion. Apart from his head and tail, no other part of Spaghetti’s body was strong enough to move.

After a week of eating well, Spaghetti gained 4kg, but he still could not stand up completely. With his boundless love for animals and meticulous care, Mr. Rodriguez brought miracles to Spaghetti. Within 7 weeks, Spaghetti went from a weak dog with a fragile life to an agile, playful and lovable dog.

Currently, Spaghetti weighs up to 20kg and is living happily with his new very kind owner and his wife and 5 other dogs. Hopefully, this dog’s life from now on will always be peaceful and prosperous like its name.
