Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are ready to face off against divisional rivals Atlanta Falcons in a potential high-flying game between two teams with huge expectations this season. They will kick off Week 5 with an interesting Thursday night duel, with Mayfield picking a telling outfit.

The former No. 1 overall pick arrived at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with an all-black outfit combined with red and white shoes. The most notable piece of clothing was his t-shirt, which featured a picture of Kobe Bryant during his time with the 2008 Redeem Team. The tee shows the five-time NBA champion taking his index finger to his lips to silence the crowd during the Beijing Olympics.

This outfit selection should excite Buccaneers fans, as Mayfield and company don’t seem content with their performance after four weeks. They boat a 3-1 record after beating strong squads like the Detroit Lions in Week 2 and the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.

Mayfield played at a solid level during his first and only away game until tonight’s matchup. He completed 12 of 19 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown against the Detroit Lions on Sept. 15

The Falcons are coming off a close 26-24 win over the New Orleans Saints and hope to extend their good moment against another divisional rival. While the Bucs are playing even better than last season, the Falcons are still trying to figure things out after an offseason full of changes.

Despite having a terrific start to the 2024 NFL season,  hasn’t been free of controversy. The veteran quarterback said that the Buccaneers locker room is different with him compared to when Tom Brady was around, even saying that the franchise is ‘fun again.’
