Coracias caudata – Coracias caudata is a species of bird belonging to the genus Coracias, in the family Coraciidae. This bird species is distributed in lower AfricaSaharaand the southern Arabian Peninsula, favoring open woodlands and savannas; it is largely absent in treeless areas. Often seen alone or in pairs, it perches prominently at treetops, poles or other high vantage points from where it can spot insects, lizards, scorpions, snails, small birds and animals.
