I wonder if the amphibious ship is as well protected as the larger aircraft carriers. Typically, amphibious ships seem to be designed as part of the protective shell of aircraft carriers, although they can still be seen. In addition to the rest of the aircraft carrier missions, a number of surface ships are part of the protective shield of aircraft carriers, but they also have their own capabilities.
