Late in 2018, Lamorne Morris paid $3.1 million for a newly constructed estate in the San Fernando Valley neighbourhood of Tarzana. A little more than a year later, after he had added his own bespoke details to the modern Spanish-inspired residence, he told People in a video tour that he intended to remain there “for quite some time.”
The 38-year-old actor/comedian, best known for his portrayal as Winston on the long-running hit sitcom “New Girl,” has changed his mind as of the present day. Now, he has relisted the property for a substantially higher price of $5.4 million.
Although the asking price is approximately $2.8 million more than what Morris originally paid for the home, he and his close companion Morgan Cleary renovated the property extensively during his tenure. In particular, he added a basketball court and low-maintenance, environmentally favourable grass to the backyard.
Built in 2018, the large white stucco and terracotta-roof structure is situated on a nearly half-acre lot secreted away behind gates and tall hedges, with a wide driveway leading to a two-car garage. Five bedrooms and eight bathrooms are distributed throughout 5,378 square feet of open-concept living space on two levels. Luxurious amenities include a luxurious movie theatre, a patio-side fitness centre, and a home automation system with surround sound.
A double-height foyer leads to an entertainment-ready living room with a coffered ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, among other features. A family room flanked by a dining room with a wet bar and glass wine cabinet connects to a gourmet kitchen with dual islands, first-rate appliances and a breakfast alcove with a window. Through Fleetwood sliding glass doors, the entire room transitions seamlessly into an alfresco dining area.
Upstairs, a den awaits, along with a luxurious master suite with a balcony, walk-in closet, and marble-clad bathroom featuring dual vanities, a steam shower, a soaking tub, and a wood sauna box; creature comforts continue outdoors, where the resort-like backyard features a pool and spa along with a bar-equipped poolhouse and lounge area with a fire pit.
