The Russian Defense Ministry has claimed that up to 80 Polish mercenaries and eight Grad multiple launch rocket systems were neutralised in an airstrike on the Megatex zinc plant in the city of Konstantinovka in Ukraine’s Donetsk region. “The enemy continues to sustain significant losses.
The Russian Aerospace Forces’ precision strike on the buildings of the Megatex zinc plant in Konstantinovka, Donetsk People’s Republic, eliminated up to 80 Polish mercenaries, 20 armored vehicles and eight Grad multiple launch rocket systems ,” the ministry announced in an official statement.
The strike comes as Russian forces have made major gains towards securing the Donetsk region from Ukrainian forces, with the Russian Military heavily focused on security Russian majority areas in Eastern Ukraine.
Polish military contractors have been reported to be playing a major role in the Russian-Ukrainian War since shortly after its outset, with Warsaw having been a leading supporter of Ukrainian forces and donated very large quantities of military hardware alongside personnel contributions.
