Caitlin Clark breaks yet another WNBA record, adding one more impressive feat to her rookie resume.

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles and talk show host David Letterman were among the 17,000-plus fans in a packed Gainbridge Fieldhouse to watch the game.

About three minutes into the game, Caitlin Clark was looking to bounce back after two quick turnovers. Clark took the ball upcourt, drove to the right, stepped back and knocked down her 86th three-pointer of the season. She broke the WNBA rookie record for three-pointers in a season.

Clark laced three three-pointers for the night, finishing with 19 points, five assists, and five rebounds in yet another record-breaking performance as the WNBA Rookie of the Year frontrunner.

The Fever used the home crowd to their advantage and saw stellar performances from Lexie Hull and Kelsey Mitchell, as the two combined for half of Indiana’s 84 points.

Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever building strong late-season surge

With just nine games left in the regular season, the Fever picked up a big win at home over Connecticut, showing the WNBA that they can play against the best teams.

Along with the fact that Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull have shown the ability to make clutch baskets in big games, the members of Indiana Fever are beginning to jell as the WNBA playoffs approach. All five of Indiana’s starters scored in double-figures in a well-rounded team effort.

Since coming back from the All-Star break, Kelsey Mitchell has been quite active for the Fever, alongside their MVP candidate in Caitlin Clark. Mitchell has scored 20-plus points in each of Indiana’s five games back from the break.

Hull has also displayed great confidence, scoring double figures in three of the Fever’s last four games, including 17 points tonight and a career-high 22 points versus the Seattle Storm on Sunday, August 18.

With Caitlin Clark leading the way, the Indiana Fever are trending upward at the right time with just nine games left in the regular season.
