New opportunity for Yippun: Strength to overcome the tumor when abandoned for help
Yippun, a beloved 15-year-old dog, had been living with a growing tumor in his abdomen. This massive tumor, larger than his head, worried his family, as they watched it expand day by day. When Yippun was finally brought in for a medical examination, the results revealed an even more concerning diagnosis. Alongside the abdominal tumor, the vets found multiple additional tumors affecting his testicles, anus, liver, and thyroid. Despite his age and delicate condition, his family and the dedicated veterinary team decided to give Yippun the chance to regain his health.
A Long, Delicate Surgery
Led by Surgeon Director Wook-Heon Jeong from the N Animal Medical Center, the veterinary team embarked on a challenging journey to remove all visible tumors. The surgery was not easy—during the operation, the tumors would rupture upon contact, requiring an abundance of gauze dressings to manage the discharge. After two hours of intense work, the team succeeded in removing the giant tumor from Yippun’s abdomen, as well as the tumors from his testicles and anus. Thankfully, every visible tumor was removed, marking a successful surgery.
A Heartwarming Recovery
After surgery, Yippun’s family stayed by his side, grateful for the chance to give their loyal companion a fresh start. They apologized to Yippun, expressing their regret for not seeking treatment earlier, and reassured him that his pain would soon be over. After two weeks of recovery, Yippun was finally ready to go home. The once-pressing tumors were gone, and his organs had returned to their rightful positions.
A Joyful Reunion and a New Beginning
On the day of his discharge, Yippun was reunited with his family. His energy and spirit were visibly lifted, running and playing without the weight of his former tumors. He showed his gratitude by happily trotting over to the vet who had helped make his dream of a pain-free life come true. As he left the clinic, his family shared their deep thanks with the veterinary team, knowing that not only had they given Yippun a new life, but they had also brought joy and relief to their family.
Now, with the past hardships behind him, Yippun can look forward to making happy memories with his loved ones. His journey is a beautiful reminder of the dedication of veterinary professionals and the unconditional love of family—no matter how difficult the path, they made a miracle happen for Yippun.
