Looking back at Kawhi Leonard’s most famous off-court moment
While Kawhi Leonard is slowly becoming famous for his funny hijinks off the court, nothing has trumped the moment that he became viral for simply laughing.
During his introductory press conference after being traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2018, Leonard was asked by Doug Smith of the Toronto Star how he would describe himself.
Leonard responded by saying that he was a “fun guy” who loved the game of basketball. He continued by saying that this question was not enough and that he needed to be asked more questions for people to get to know him.
After responding, he admitted to the reporter that he did not even know where he was seated before laughing in a unique way.
His laugh eventually became a meme as well as his statement calling himself a “fun guy.” He has also been called an “android” or a “cyborg” occasionally by fans due to the robotic nature of his laugh as well as his deadpan demeanor.
Leonard himself has made a joke about his famous laugh from his introductory press conference during the Raptors’ championship parade. After beating the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 Finals, Kawhi spoke to the Raptors fans and told them to enjoy before doing an exaggerated version of his laugh.
