Almost everyone knows that exercise is always good because it burns fat and excess substances in the body and is beneficial for the cardiovascular system. If walking is good, then hiking, although a different form of walking, will increase the effectiveness of those benefits many times over.
Not only that, hiking also gives us the experience of being close to nature instead of hugging our faces in front of phone or computer screens all day. Hikers will find eye-catching green vegetation that makes them forget for a moment the hustle and bustle of the city. The fresh air will make us fall in love and no longer want to return to places polluted by industries and waste pipes.
However, there are still unlucky things that happen on long walks, especially for those who like to pass through dense mountainous areas, which contain countless dangers, like this school. The case of Ms. Erin Wilson in the story below.
That day, Erin Wilson and Eva – a Malinois shepherd dog, were on a walk together at Big Bar Pass, in Trinity City, California, USA, when they suddenly encountered an incident.
Out of nowhere, a mountain lion appeared and rushed forward, intending to attack Wilson. Too scared, almost unconsciously, she called out to her close friend and the person closest to her at that time, “Evaaa!”.
Without a moment’s hesitation, the brave dog appeared just in time and gave the lion a powerful blow.
To save her master, Eva had to pay a heavy price
“The lion looked haggard, possibly due to lack of food, but still looked superior to my two-and-a-half-year-old pet dog,” Wilson described.
After a while of struggling, Eva began to lose ground and then her owner heard her crying. The lion stuck its sharp teeth into Eva’s head. Despite Wilson’s efforts such as punching, kicking and using sticks or anything she found to attack, the lion still refused to let the poor dog go.
Desperate, Wilson decided to run to where his car was parked in hopes of finding something useful enough to relieve Eva.
Fortunately for the girl, a can of pepper spray, which she often kept in her car for protection, worked wonders. With just a few basic operations, the lion couldn’t stand it and had to leave.
In exchange for the safety of its owner, the Malinois dog was seriously injured. But thanks to the dedication of the veterinarians, the “hero” was finally cured and gradually regained his health.
