Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever recently defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 93-86, helping push their win streak to five games.
In the win over the Sparks, the rookie produced her second career triple-double, posting 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Earlier in the year, she became the first rookie in WNBA history to have ever recorded a triple-double, and she’s now achieved that feat twice this season.
After another historic night for the rookie, WNBA legend Lisa Leslie commented on Clark’s success in the league.
While congratulating Caitlin Clark for attaining the triple-double and mentioning the Fever clinching the WNBA Playoffs, Leslie put the league on notice when she said, “The separation is clear.”
“Caitlin Clark, congratulations again and again!” Leslie said. “You continue to elevate your game and your team!! The triple double and playoff bound! The separation is clear Good luck, Indiana Fever.”
After speaking about the potential Rookie of the Year, the Indiana Fever’s official admin on X reposted Leslie’s comment with the caption, “Lisa Leslie agrees, the separation is clear.”
The Fever are in a unique position they haven’t benefited from in nearly a decade. With six games left on the season schedule, Indiana has already clinched a playoff spot.
They’ll be making a trip to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
Indiana currently holds an 18-16 record. They’re one of the hottest teams in the league, having won nine of their last 11 games.
At just 22 years old, Caitlin Clark has helped battle against some of the top teams in the league.
The rookie is averaging 18.9 points, 8.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game. She leads all rookies in average points and leads the WNBA in average assists.
As Lisa Leslie explained, the separation is clear with Clark’s elite-level talent. She may be a young name in the WNBA, but she’s making her mark early.
