Joe Rogan recently shared his thoughts on Kamala Harris’ ideas on social media censorship and free speech. The UFC commentator slammed her proposed plans as a violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and pointed out that Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg was afraid of this very situation.

Rogan is among the most influential voices in contemporary culture and is widely considered one of the most popular personalities in the media. As the host of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and an established stand-up comedian, he’s always been vocal about his belief in freedom of expression and speech.

During a recent episode of his podcast with Kat Timpf (JRE #2200), Rogan reacted to one of Harris’ recent interviews where she addressed the need for “oversight and regulation” of social media. The UFC commentator said:

“Right away, there’s no way to misconstrue that. Oversight and regulation for free speech is ridiculous… What she was saying was what I was thinking she was saying she wants government oversight and regulation for social media. It’s also saying that the very thing that Mark Zuckerberg regrets, should be happening… We don’t have rules, we have First Amendment rights of free speech.”

Joe Rogan speculates a dismal future for America if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 elections

During another episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, the famed comedian outlined possible scenarios if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential elections. Rogan pointed out that X could be forced to follow the same censorship rules as Facebook and Elon Musk could lose his social campaign promoting free speech.

Speaking to Shawn Ryan (JRE #2207), Rogan warned about Harris potentially suppressing the First Amendment rights of the American people and outlined what her running mate Tim Walz said about the same. Rogan stated:

“I don’t think it turns around if Kamala Harris gets into office. I think they clamp down more. She openly discussed the need for the same rules to apply to Facebook and Twitter and the possibility that Elon Musk could lose his privileges… There are so many wild things that they are saying. Tim Walz said that the First Amendment doesn’t apply to misinformation or hate speech. Okay, well, it certainly does.”
