Despite suffering a deflating 93-69 blowout loss in their Game 1 showdown against the Connecticut Sun, the Indiana Fever remain confident in their ability to overturn this first-round series in their favor.
So much so that Indiana’s X account (formerly Twitter) is now telling the fans to get their tickets for Game 3 on Friday night. The thing is, the Fever will need to avoid elimination in Game 2 on Wednesday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in order for them to force a do-or-die showdown at home.
Despite having the odds stacked against them, however, the Fever still came out with a bold post not long after losing Game 1.
“be in the house for Game 3 on Friday night. get your tickets now, before it’s too late,” the Fever wrote.
While there are fans who love the optimism from the squad’s social media team, more than a few supporters could not help but highlight the fact that the Fever will need to go through a major hurdle before they are able to set up a Game 3 matchup at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
“Posting this after the Game 1 they just had is either extremely confident or extremely stupid. Or both,” a reaction read.
“Can we make it through game 2 first?” asked a fan.
“How could you post this when you’re down 1-0 in the series? You’re gonna get cooked if they lose on Wenesday..” said another.
“Girl…..we have to win on Wednesday first ? How do you know we will make it to game 3?” reacted a user.
“be ready to get your refunds,” a comment stated.
That last tweet does have a good point. Will the Fever automatically refund the fans at full value if the Fever are eliminated after Game 2?
Whatever the case may be, what you can say for sure is that Indiana’s X account is by no means lacking in confidence.
