Those who have listened to previous episodes of the Joe Rogan Experience will recall the excitement surrounding Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s debut on episode #2063 of the podcast. Johnson, the biggest, most popular Hollywood star at the moment going on the biggest podcast seemed like the most natural thing for both men.
For the fans, not so much. The former WWE star had been the target of harsh criticism from Rogan on his podcast, and fans of the comedian took issue with “The Rock’s” handling of the “n-word” incident that occurred two years prior. Nonetheless, their podcast participation proved to be rather cordial as neither guy touched on these contentious and possibly inflammatory subjects. The fans, who were hoping to see the two guys work out their past issues, were extremely offended by this. And the explanation can be found in how endearing the star of “The Scorpion King” is as a person.
On JRE podcast episode #2138, Rogan was joined by conservative political analyst Tucker Carlson for a three-hour discussion. The two men struck into a conversation about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. And Rogan was all over the action star’s praises. In addition to being on his show, Rogan informed Carlson that Johnson had spent time with him and his friends: “Yeah, ‘The Rock’ worked out with us then sat in the sauna with us.” It was enjoyable. took a chilly dive with us. It was enjoyable.
Carlson questioned the podcast host, “Is he a good, dude?” because he was interested in the Hollywood star’s behavior while not on TV. Rogan assured him that Johnson wasn’t just acting for the cameras, but rather a very modest, amiable, and down to earth person to hang out with.
“What a wonderful guy he is. Very kind man. Really kind person, that’s how I would describe him. Some folks, you know, pretend to be humble in order to look cool. He’s a real guy, he’s not doing that. He actually provides genuine hugs. You realize he’s real. And we spent hours chatting with him. After working out and hanging together, we all recorded a podcast as a group. These folks really are lovely. Rogan said to Carlson, “Like you’d be able to sniff something out.”
And considering that Rogan didn’t seem to think much of “The Rock” before to their podcast appearance, this is really high praise.
‘The Rock’s and Joe Rogan’s erratic relationship
In a video with Derek from the fitness YouTube channel “More Plates More Dates,” Joe Rogan expressed his shock at “The Rock” and said he was a natural. It was nearly hard for Rogan and Derek to accept that the Hollywood supermodel didn’t utilize steroids to get and keep his Adonis-like body.
The stand-up comedian believed Johnson was being deceitful with his followers and the millions of young people who looked up to him and set unrealistic expectations for their body-building. Furthermore, the “feud” was by no means one-sided.
A video clip of Joe Rogan using profanity during podcast appearances became viral in 2022. Johnson seemed to rescind his support for the stand-up comedian despite having previously defended Rogan following criticism leveled at him for allegedly disseminating false information. But after the two guys had a very friendly and amiable discussion on Rogan’s show, it all seemed to be moot point.
What do you think about Joe Rogan giving Tucker Carlson a lot of praise for “The Rock”?
