McMurphy, who had Georgia at the top of his rankings last week, replaced the Bulldogs with Alabama at the No. 1 spot and moved Georgia to the second-best team in the country.
The official AP top 25 college football rankings for Week 5 will be announced on Sunday, at around 2 p.m. ET after voters submit their ballots to the AP to be counted.

Bulldogs wideout Dillon Bell rushed for a 3-yard score before Beck combined with Bell again for a 67-yard touchdown pass to put Georgia up 34-33. However, Alabama went ahead again when Milroe combined with Ryan Williams for a 75-yard touchdown. The Tide also converted a 2-point with Bernard.
Although Georgia was looking to get back into the game in the final few seconds, Alabama’s Zabien Brown grabbed an interception to seal the win for the Tide.
