New York Giants first-round pick Malik Nabers has been the only exciting player to watch on the team this season. In the first four games of his NFL career, Nabers has 35 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns on 52 targets.
Nabers has made things much easier for Daniel Jones, and although the quarterback is not playing well, he looks way better than last year.
Despite that, one Giants fan page on X posted that Nabers has dropped two catches on two crucial fourth downs for the team in the previous two games and that the receiver needs to fix that.
New York Jets wideout did not like that post against Nabers and was quick to shut the narrative against the star rookie.
“Shut up bra.”
The Giants fanbase loves Nabers, but as a rookie, he will make some mistakes. The fact that everyone around the league knows that he is their entire offense makes things much tougher for the wide receiver. Other Giants players need to step up and help out Nabers, or the defenses will just put two or three players on the rookie to stop him from contributing.
Nabers also suffered a concussion during the team’s loss to the. As of now, he is listed as questionable for the Week 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Malik Nabers is on pace to have a historic rookie season
Malik Nabers has made an impressive start in the NFL and is poised to have a remarkable rookie season. He is currently averaging 96.5 yards per game, and if he maintains this performance, Nabers will likely break the all-time receiving yards record set by a rookie.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua currently holds that record, as he had 1,486 receiving yards last season. Former LSU receivers Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase also had immense success as rookies, as they had 1,400 and 1,455 receiving yards, respectively.
However, Nacua, Jefferson, and Chase did have other players to help them out. In Nabers’ case, he is carrying the load alone, and he desperately needs other players to step up so that fewer defensive players are on him.
