A stray dog found earlier this year in a tree in the centre of Georgia without food, shelter or protection from climate change has been subjected to horrific hardships for four years.
Although the pitbull should weigh between 20 and 30 kilos, he had a terrible appearance, he weighed only about 11 kilograms and had wounds from the shackles on his neck.
The Cordele animal shelter made the story public by posting it on social media along with some terrifying images after receiving a huge dose of poison.
The poor creature desperately needed a new home where she could finally receive the love that had come to her for so long.
The public reaction to the dog’s story was largely favorable; as a result, it was widely publicized. The rescue group Go Dogs Go Rescue Inc. decided to rush to the scene as quickly as possible to save the dog; they were willing to risk their lives.
Fortunately, the dog, formerly known as “Cocaine,” soon found a foster home and is now making a full recovery.
He has also earned the title of “Hero” in honor of his courage and strength, and is well aware of the changes he has experienced thanks to the dedication of his rescuers.
It was discovered that he had heartworm, a parasitic disease that irritates the heart and arteries. This was worrying, but an update from the rescue team showed that he is now completely fine thanks to the therapy.
He can now sleep in a comfortable bed after spending so much time there, and the food he has been receiving has been crucial in helping him gain weight.
His profile was updated by the breeding father.
“He is unbelievable. I put the bed in his kennel after giving him a little treat. He recovered and entered the space alone. He has a radio and a car light.
Hero’s most recent images demonstrate his growth. The dog who was humiliated and abused has become a confident individual.
The rescuers posted the following on Facebook:
He is considerate, obedient and nice. Hero’s only goal for the day is to be nice to the animals.
His former and different family did not know how to treat him with respect; if discovered, they were probably quickly punished.
It is also hoped that the hero’s story will help to warm people’s hearts and convince them to stop accepting cruelty so that animals can live in the homes they deserve.
