First Take guest divides viewers with Dak Prescott claim as fans laugh ‘this is funniest thing I’ve heard all year’.-davinci

DALLAS Cowboys superstar Dak Prescott is heading into what feels like a make-or-break season, but one pundit believes the franchise should make him the highest paid quarterback in the league.

Quarterback Prescott is in the final year of a four-year, $160 million deal he signed in 2021.

His record in the playoffs is an underwhelming one, but ESPN’s Chris Carlin appeared on First Take to argue he still deserves big money from the Cowboys.

“What is my best opportunity to win? I can win with Dak Prescott,” Carlin said.

Prescott’s 2-5 postseason record frustrates Cowboys fans the world over.

But Carlin pointed out Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, Justin Herbert, and Lamar Jackson all make more than him and have worse QB ratings in the playoffs.

“You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone,” Carlin added on First Take.

“We all seem to forget, he was second in the MVP this year.

“This is not a bad player. We all make out he’s a bad player.

“You make him the highest paid player, what does that actually mean?

“He’ll be sixth on the list by this time next year because we’ll go through all these other quarterbacks who are going to get their money.”

“I personally don’t think it actually means anything at this point.”

Fans weren’t shy to deliver their verdicts on Carlin’s take on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

“This is the laugh I needed today Thanks @ChrisCarlin. Funniest thing Ive heard all year,” one fan said.

“Nobody was looking for this take I promise,” another fan wrote.

“You cannot win with Dak in the playoffs, his abilities are limited for him take them to the next level,” a third fan posted.

“Dak can’t handle post season pressure. All Cowboys fans and most NFL fans have seen it and know it to be true,” a fourth fan said.

“Surely he’s not shown enough when it really matters,” a fifth fan said.

Prescott himself insisted recently that money isn’t a motivating factor for him.

“I don’t play for money. Never have cared for it, to be honest with you,” Prescott said.

“Would give it up just to play this game. So, I allow that to the business people to say what it’s worth, what they’re supposed to give a quarterback of my play, a person of my play, a leader of my play.

“For me, it’s about, as I said, control what I can control and handle that part and the rest will take care of itself.”
