In a promotional video for ZOA Energy drink named Big Dwayne Energy Has Arrived, WWE superstar and Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson exhorts fans to unleash their potential by consuming “Big Dwayne Energy.” A minute-long ad featuring common people conquering obstacles and emulating Johnson’s confidence is matched to the sounds of American rapper Latto’s smash hit “Big Energy.”

The commercial, created by Haygarth USA, shows Johnson playfully representing people facing their everyday struggles, such as managing from a distance as a mother, experiencing the thrill of airborne acrobatics, or taking on the dexterity of a surgeon. These representations successfully highlight the fundamental principle of the energy drink: ZOA supports everyone who aspires to confidently express their unique personalities.

Johnson especially loved playing his famous ’90s character in the final sequence, out of all the roles in the campaign. He is wearing a fanny pack, mom jeans, a gold chain, a black turtleneck, and an original photo that went viral on social media.

On Halloween eve 2019, Dwayne Johnson played a surgeon. Comedian and Hollywood actor Kevin Hart, who is also Johnson’s friend, mimicked his fanny-pack outfit and shared a hilarious video on social media to promote their movie Jumanji: The Next Level.

 

 

 

Johnson compliments his ’90s self in the commercial by stating, “Nice fanny pack,” to which the ’90s Johnson replies, “I know.”

Johnson is also a co-owner of Teremana Tequila, a high-end brand of tequila that was introduced in Jalisco, Mexico, in the beginning of 2020. He is now the second actor, after Ryan Reynolds in Hollywood, to appear in advertisements for companies they started and to be the face of such ads.

Reynolds owns the Welsh football team Wrexham A.F.C., the gin brand Aviation American Gin, the wireless service provider Mint Mobile, and the film and television production business Maximum Effort Productions.
