Life on the streets may be unbearable for humans. In addition, animals are denied food, shelter, and clean water. When possible, many groups attempt to assist them by providing food and shelter. Animal Aid is a wonderful organization that helps animals and does an excellent job. Animal charities aid strays in a variety of ways throughout the world. In addition to providing medical care, Animal Aid does everything it can to house and feed the animals.
Animal Aid was contacted about a puppy suffering from severe mange. Even with lots of love and attention, mange is often difficult to treat. Her disease had progressed to the point where she was bald, leaving her susceptible to secondary infections, parasites, and sunburns. Volunteers from Animal Aid were sent to assist the dog. Since she was obviously hungry, she received numerous offers of assistance, but she had no intention of being picked up.
The dog was homeless because she had recently given birth. Finally, after much persuasion and dog treats, the volunteer was able to adopt Momma. Now was the time to capture her puppies.
When Momma’s puppies were discovered, they were infected with mange, and Coco’s health was abysmal. To save both dogs, our volunteer picked up the weakest puppy and carried her to her mother. Coco will be granted the second chance she so richly deserves.
Mom was positioned on the exam table. Her skin was infested with ringworm. She required regular application of antibiotic ointment and medicinal baths. They believed that with their commitment and proper nutrition, she would recover fully. The medical staff did everything they could to calm down Mama, who was terrified.
Coco was tested as well. She was underweight and lethargic, so the medical staff who applied the topical therapy to her skin provided her with a great deal of comfort and care. Regular dermatological baths would be required for the dog. Fortunately, landlords in this situation allowed mother and child to stay at the rescue center during the healing period.
The dogs felt comfortable enough to eat their first meal after some time had passed. Momma and Coco were not accustomed to being caged or interacting with humans in this manner, but the volunteer bent down to feed them a delicious dish with the best of intentions. As soon as the dogs began eating it, the warmth in the room increased, especially among the volunteers.
Even though the dogs were safe, they were in a strange environment. Coco, who was frail and small, clung to her mother at every opportunity. She could only fall asleep curled up against her mother. It was a breathtaking sight to behold. Their affection was palpable and incontestable.
After a few weeks of intensive therapy, Coco and her mother made significant gains. Coco had enough energy to play, which drove her mother insane. The volunteers were surprised when the nicest thing occurred next. Coco closely observed and imitated her mother’s every action. Coco scratched her ear when her mother scratched hers. If Mom sat down to scratch, Coco followed suit. Wonderfully, Coco did not move her gaze away from her mother.
