Animal lovers know the satisfaction that dogs offer, they are faithful and show their love to humans. That is why it is unfortunate to know of cases of people capable of neglecting a pet, to the point of endangering its life, as happened in Wisconsin with two puppies.They left them to their fate

Last December, Delavan police received a notification on their Facebook account, prompting them to head to the parking lot of a Walmart on Thanksgiving Day.

When they arrived at the site they found a Dantesque scene,  two dachshund dogs in deplorable conditions had been left to their fate . They were identified as Dexter and Blackberry, the degree of malnutrition was evident, and they were also shivering from the cold.The officials  took them to a safe place , warmed them and treated them. They were later handed over to Lakeland Animal Shelter, an animal shelter.

«They have really surprised us. Our best goal would be for them to recover  and have a good quality of life, but unfortunately this has caused at least permanent damage to their hearts, kidneys and liver,” said shelter spokesperson Kristen Perry.They received a medical evaluation for the pathologies they presented , pancreatitis, low blood sugar, and alarming liver values. They also underwent extensive dental surgeries, and little by little they recovered and gained weight.The case became known through social networks, and  many people came to the shelter  to show support and solidarity.

“It fills our hearts to see so many loving people thinking about these two dogs who suffered the terrible negligence of their owner,” commented a shelter representative.

Despite the mistreatment received, the noble animals  do not show aggression or rejection towards people,  on the contrary, they are docile.They have suffered a lot but in their hearts there is no room for resentment

«They are sweet guys.  They have no reason to trust anyone . Instead of harboring that and distrusting people, they are very lovable. “They love affection,” Perry said.Comments rejecting what happened arose immediately, many people were angry with something so inhumane.

“This is very outrageous. There is no reason for any pet to get to that point . How could someone do this to an animal?It is heartbreaking, I hope they recover to be adopted by a family that gives them the love and devotion they deserve,” said a hurt user.The police reported that  the person responsible for the poor condition of the dogs is a 48-year-old man named Elkhorn . He has already been summoned to answer for the crimes committed, had a related record, and the previous and current charges were referred to the County District Attorney’s Office.Additionally, a GoFundMe account has been created   to help raise funds and cover expenses for Dexter and Blackberry’s care.Justice needs to be done

A Delavan police officer  made a call of conscience to take care of their pets and go to the Lakeland Animal Shelter if they cannot be taken care of.Likewise, the shelter always needs support through donations of money, food and disinfectant liquids. Let us be faithful defenders of animal rights, supporting in everything that is needed!Share this unusual and dramatic case with all your friends and acquaintances, to help stop abuse against animals.
