Photo: Chinese archeology.According to the Daily Mail, the fossilized skeleton of a dinosaur was found in Lufeng county, Yunnan province, southwest China. The skeleton is 70% intact, has a length of nearly 8m and is about 180 million years old – belonging to the Jurassic period.

Wang Tao, head of Lufeng City’s Dinosaur Fossil Conservation and Research Center, said: “Such a complete dinosaur fossil is a rarity around the world. Based on fossils fossils have been discovered over the years, we believe this is a giant dinosaur named Lufengosaurus, which lived in the early Jurassic period.”
Lufengosaurus is believed to be a four-legged herbivore and is commonly known as the Lufeng Lizard.

The center is planning an emergency dig to rescue the skeleton as it was found in a place where there is a risk of soil erosion.
