24- year old Bronx native, Belcalis Almanzar aka Cardi B went from dancing in a Manhattan strip club, social media sensation, Love and Hip Hop Reality TV star, and now the first female rapper with no featured artists to the hold the number 1 Billboard spot since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998.

She took Kodak Black’s popular not so popular track “No Flockin” added more bass, attitude, honesty, and that Hispanic Bronx flavor and created “Bodak Yellow”. Friday night (October 6th) at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami for the BET Hip Hop Awards show which airs Tuesday October 10th. She received 9 nominations for this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards (Best Hip Hop video, Hot Ticket performer, MVP of the year, Single of the year, best new Hip Hop Artist, Hustler of the year, Made-You-Look (Best Hip Hop style), Best mixtape, and impact track).
