Paris has endured several hardships since her father’s death. However, this talented young woman is currently developing her own career.
Despite the ups and downs in her life, she has now decided to speak out about her relationship with her father, known as the “King of Pop.”
Few people, if any, know about Michael Jackson. I mean, they don’t call you the “King of Pop” for nothing, right? But as much as we love his music, the late singer’s life wasn’t easy.
Michael Jackson can be considered a product, someone who was born from a very young age to be an exceptional artist and vocalist. That doesn’t change the fact that his music, dancing, and songwriting are absolute masterpieces.
The entire world mourned the musician when he passed away in 2009. He had spent practically his entire life being hounded by paparazzi and tabloid media, and even his final burial wasn’t exempt.
Several media helicopters followed the helicopters transporting his body from the Los Angeles hospital. News about Michael Jackson and his family continues to circulate around the world today.
Nowadays, his family receives most of the attention. His children, in particular, have been victims of attacks, as the Jackson family is a frequent target of paparazzi.

Paris Jackson, Jackson’s second daughter, has grown up in the public eye. She’s now working hard to differentiate herself from Michael Jackson’s daughter and become her own personality.
She has been suffering from mental illness for several years, although she is actually doing very well.

Paris Jackson was born in California on April 3, 1998. She is Michael Jackson’s only daughter and his second son.
She and her brother were homeschooled until sixth grade, making their early years quite private. The children were carefully shielded from the public eye because Michael Jackson prevented them from maintaining their isolation. Children in Michael’s family wore costumes or wrapped their heads in scarves to hide their faces in early photographs.
As a result, life on the Neverland Trail was extremely difficult for Paris and his siblings. No one can deny that they were immensely wealthy, but it must have been difficult too.
Speaking with supermodel Naomi Campbell in a YouTube interview, Paris Jackson opened up about her father and what their relationship was like.

She said Michael Jackson made sure they were “cultured.”
“My father was very good at making sure we were cultured, making sure we were educated, and not just showing us the glitz and glamour, like going from hotel to hotel, to five-star places,” Paris said.
It was like we saw everything. We saw developing countries. We saw the whole spectrum.

Paris Jackson lived all over the world during her childhood, while her father traveled the globe to perform in front of hundreds of thousands of people.
She says she was very grateful for her privileged childhood. But at the same time, Paris learned from a young age that she shouldn’t feel entitled to everything. Her father made sure the children understood the concept of having to work for their possessions.
“Every time we were growing up, it was all about cute things,” Paris said. “If we wanted five toys from FAO Schwarz or Toys ‘R’ Us, we had to read five books.
“It’s about listening to it, not just having a degree for certain things or thinking, ‘Oh, I have it all,’” he added. “It’s about working hard for it—that’s something completely different; it’s an achievement.”
Paris was only 11 years old when her father died.
On June 25, 2009, “The King of Pop” suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and died shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital. Paris and her siblings were placed under the legal guardianship of their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, according to Michael’s will.
During her father’s televised memorial service, 11-year-old Paris stood in front of the world to say a few words about her father.
“Since I was born, Dad has been the best father you could ever imagine,” she said. “I just wanted to tell him I love him so much.”
Paris and her brothers, Prince Michael, 12, and Prince Michael II, 7, attended the televised memorial service. In fact, it was practically the first time the world got more than a glimpse of Jackson’s children.
Then, in January 2010, they were seen in public again when they accepted a posthumous lifetime achievement award for their father at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
In November of that same year, Paris appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to talk about her father and said he was amazing.
“I almost understood what a good father he was; he was the best cook in the world,” he told Wifrey. “He was just a normal dad.”
“She made the best French toast in the world,” Paris added.
When Michael Jackson passed away, Paris Jackson moved into a farmhouse in Calabasas, California, with her grandmother Katherine Jackson and other family members, according to The Daily Mail.
When she turned 19, she decided to move into Michael Jackson’s private studio at the family compound, which she transformed into a dormitory-style bedroom.
Losing your father is hard enough. But for Paris, it was much more than that. Suddenly, he was expected to continue his father’s legacy.
“I tried to grow up too fast.” When she started seventh grade, Paris decided to attend a private school. At the time, the only ones who accepted her as she was were the older kids, and it wasn’t perfect.
“I was doing a lot of things that a 13-, 14-, and 15-year-old girl shouldn’t be doing. I was trying to grow up too fast, and I wasn’t a good person,” she told Rolling Stone.
Around the same time, social media had become a big thing, and Paris was experiencing cyberbullying.
“The whole free speech thing is great,” he explained. “But I don’t think our Founding Fathers predicted the emergence of social media, creating all these changes and so on.”
Paris suffered a lot of trauma in her teens. She even attempted suicide after a very serious accident, but that was also a turning point.
She spent her sophomore year, as well as half of her junior year, at a therapeutic school in Utah, which was great for her.
“I’m a completely different person,” she said. “I was crazy. I really was crazy, going through a lot of distress. And I was also dealing with my depression and anxiety without help.”
Paris graduated from high school in 2015, a year early, but by then, she already had a lot to contribute. She was one of the heirs to Michael Jackson’s multi-million-dollar fortune, and everyone considered her a celebrity, even though she hadn’t actually done anything.
Now, however, Jackson is heading in the same direction as his father: the entertainment business. He takes his father’s advice to heart: if you want something, you have to work for it. During the interview with Naomi Campbell, Paris declared that she was “absolutely convinced” that she should pursue her own success.
For someone born into ridiculous wealth, as the daughter of one of the most famous people in modern history, this is something we truly adore Paris for. No matter what’s happened in her past or who her father is, she expects to do what’s right for her.
She grew up surrounded only by adults, except for her siblings. Leaving Neverland to attend a real school was a big change. She grew up as Michael Jackson’s daughter, but for her, the world was more than that. From the beginning, it was certainly difficult.
“When I was introduced to the real world, it shocked me. It shocked me a lot,” Paris told Harper’s Bazaar. “Not just because it was sexist, but misogynistic, racist, and cruel. It was incredibly scary. And it still is.”
And what did Paris do? Well, she went off on her own, starting to work as a model. And she’s incredibly talented at it!
In recent years, she has appeared on the covers of some of the world’s most influential magazines, including Rolling Stone, Vogue, and Narcisse, to name a few.
For Paris, modeling is a very therapeutic and natural pursuit. Perhaps they were surprised to see how her father transformed thanks to his multiple plastic surgeries. But in this age of social media and cyberbullying, Paris embraces her decision.
“I’ve been struggling with self-esteem issues for a long time,” she said. “A lot of people think I’m ugly, and a lot of people don’t. But there’s a moment when, when I’m modeling, I forget about my self-esteem issues and focus on what the photographer is telling me, and I feel beautiful. And in that sense, it’s selfish.”
Paris’s Instagram followers get a glimpse into her life as she seems to enjoy hanging out with her friends and enjoying all the things in life she didn’t get to fully experience when she was younger.
She released her debut album, Wilted, in 2020, following in her father’s musical footsteps. Paris Jackson is dedicated to music, but her CD leans toward folk rather than the R&B and pop style her father was known for.
“It’s basically a story about heartbreak and love in general, and the thoughts and feelings that arise when something doesn’t work out,” he told Paper.
Paris Jackson grew up with her father’s music and claims to know the lyrics to his songs. While she was creating her own music, it’s inevitable that Michael Jackson’s musical taste influenced her.
“He loved classical music, jazz, hip hop, R&B, and obviously Motow’s stuff,” she says.
Paris Jackson paid tribute to her father with more than 50 tattoos. None of them are dedicated to Michael Jackson.
“I feel it with me all the time.” She doesn’t believe time heals and instead has learned to live with the tragic loss of her father.
But at the same time, Michael Jackson will always be with her, as she remembers him visiting her in her dreams.
“I live life with the certainty of, ‘Well, I lost the only thing that mattered to me,’” he told Rolling Stone. “So, from now on, anything bad that happens can’t be as bad as what happened before. So I can just roll with it.”
“I feel it with me all the time.”
Anyone who has experienced the loss of a parent can empathize with Paris and the pain it entails. However, no one has experienced childhood quite like Paris Jackson.
We’re so glad she can now go about her business without being followed by paparazzi everywhere she goes. Good luck, Paris!
