Along with the post, Zeta-Jones shared a nostalgic photo from 25 years ago in New York. The couple was photographed by renowned art collector Jea Pigozzi celebrating their 30th and 55th birthdays, respectively.
“Happy birthday to Michael and me!” She wrote in the caption: “This is how we looked on our birthday 25 years ago! I love you with all my heart.”
Douglas also dedicated his own tribute to her, posting a beautiful photo of his wife and a touching video where Zeta-Joseph, accompanied by Bopo, from former U2, wished her a happy birthday while holding a modest cupcake with just a bell.

The Oscar-winning power couple met in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival and got engaged just a year later, in December 1999. Their passionate romance culminated in the birth of their first child, Dylan, on August 8, 2000, allowing the baby to attend her parents’ wedding ceremony just a few months later in November of that same year. The couple welcomed their second child, Carys, on April 20, 2003.
The actor, known for hit films like Fatal Attraction, is said to have fallen in love with Zeta-José as soon as he saw her perform in The Mask of Zorro (1998).

“I met her at the bar, and she was a real celebrity,” Douglas said during an appearance on The Joseph Ross Show. “I asked her, ‘Do you happen to want to come back for a drink?’”
When Zeta-José saw him later that night, he told her, “You know, I’m going to be the father of your children,” which didn’t sit well with the actress, who told him she’d heard about him and left the date.
However, Douglas didn’t give in. He asked her to wait for him with a letter and roses on the set of The Trapeze, a film Zeta-José was going to shoot in Scotland.

While her body has been recognized for its stability and strength over the years, the road hasn’t been without its bumps. The couple briefly separated in 2013 before reconciling a year later.
“It may not be a two-way street. But I am very much in love with her. And yes, I think all couples have their rough patches,” Douglas said on The Elle DeGeorges Show. “The only problem is, as you know, we’re all in the public eye, and that leads to us being a little more exposed than most. We’re back stronger than ever.”
“We’ve all moved around a bit,” joked one friend, as others joined in to congratulate the actress on her beauty and wish the couple a happy birthday.
