Like other hot days on the African savanna, lions quietly walk to find meals for themselves and members of the herd.

Living in groups, even if the prey is as big as a zebra or antelope, it can only partially meet their needs. Female lions must always try to hunt lucrative prey if they don’t want to starve to death.

But with their position, lions have an extremely rich menu. They include most of the herbivores in Africa, from big to small, on that list. And this time it’s scimitar-horned oryx.

Discovering a herd of antelopes eating grass, two lions gently approached, hid behind the bushes and then suddenly sped up to chase their prey.

There were two skilled killers aiming at the same target, a scimitar-horned antelope. They even made their prey fall, but in the end they still missed out on a delicious meal.

The reason is because the victim this time is not easy to bully, with long and sharp horns, the antelope easily counterattacks against the enemy and leisurely returns to reunite with his herd.

It must be added that after nearly being injured by the antelope’s sharp horns, the lioness seemed scared and did not dare to bet any more on this too dangerous hunt. Perhaps they will try again with other prey to find a delicious meal.
