As shelter volunteers were driving to the dog rescue shelter in Mladenovac, Serbia, they saw a dog on the road, alone in the rain.
As they approached, the dog ran off the road and into the bushes. When rescuers approached, the dog began to show signs of aggression, but only because she was scared.
They tried to convince her to come out with food and after many attempts and a lot of patience, the dog finally decided that she would trust them.
She allowed them to pet her and even pick her up and put her in their car. Then they took her to her shelter and decided to call her “Lady.”

She was already feeling much better now that she was no longer trapped in the cold, pouring rain. Fortunately, she received a clean bill of health and received the best care and love.
Just one month later, Lady was adopted by a loving family! She now has a big backyard to run around and play with her new puppy brother, and a warm bed to sleep in, instead of being abandoned in the rain.
