It’s hard to say final goodbyes, even for dogs
Wiley the dog is visiting his owner’s tombstone every day after his owner died in 2014. He is in Ordu, Turkey. Wiley is the same as the famous loyal dog called Hachiko in Japan. This loyalty of the dog really touches.
Wiley the wolf-dog was the tribute to its owner’s late grandmother Gladys – so much so that he appears to cry at her graveside. The adorable wolf-dog lays on the tombstone, shaking, and makes what appear to be sobbing noises as the family gathers around him.
Wiley the Wolf lost his human companion, Gladys, and his grief was very hard to disguise.
Sarah Varley is Gladys’ granddaughter. She explained that Wiley was one of the service wolf-dogs that help veterans, like Gladys, when they returned to the community and cope with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. Wiley is just one of the wolf-dogs provided by the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center in Ventura County, California, a center that provides shelter for wolf-dogs and horses.
Really, it’s well known that a dog is man’s best friend and loyal!!!
Sarah Varley is Gladys’ granddaughter talk more: I am not a vet so I can’t say if he’s reverse sneezing as some of you are stating. I can tell you that he has never done that before and hasn’t done it since. I may be anthropomorphizing his actions but it’s how I’m choosing to deal with loss, so deal with it.
Wiley is a therapy wolf-dog who is used to help veterans returning from war with PTSD. He provides therapy and cares through a program called Warriors and Wolves.
“When I walked into the enclosure with the wolves it all melted away,” she said. “Wolves are beautiful, strong, big animals, and when you’re with them, it’s breathtaking,” she continued to say.
Also, for those stating he is d.y.i.n.g, I promise he’s not. We have a veterinarian on staff at the sanctuary and Wiley is just fine.
