Will the Lakers land Bronny come draft time?
One of the biggest stories surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers this season is that of what superstar LeBron James will do this offseason.
He is eligible to opt out of his current contract and will be free to pursue any other opportunity.
Many have speculated that one big factor in everything for James will be what happens with his son, Bronny.
He is currently a freshman at USC but will be able to enter the NBA Draft following the conclusion of the season.
Bronny suffered an unfortunate cardiac arrest attack last summer, which delayed his start to the year.
Thankfully, the doctors cleared him to return to game action, but it’s been tough sledding for him on the court.
He hasn’t looked overly great but has shown flashes of why he was a hyped prospect.
There has been thought that he could stay in college for another season, which would damper James’ plans to potentially play alongside his son next season.
James’s agent Rich Paul weighed in on the thought of Bronny entering the NBA Draft this season.
In a big development, he explained that it’s more important to have Bronny land with the best possible team to develop him, rather than having him go high on draft night.
“I don’t value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation,” Paul said on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Paul also stated that while James would love to play with his son, he wants him to be his own man.
“LeBron wants Bronny to be his own man,” Paul said, although he noted that LeBron would be “head over heels excited if that were to happen organically.”

This will be a situation to monitor closely, and it’ll be examined from all angles.
The Lakers have been thought to be interested in potentially drafting Bronny, but everything remains fluid at this point.
