“I don’t see any animals,” Pascale emphasizes. “I notice a soul. And that’s not something I avoid.” He texted a photo of the abandoned puppy to his wife, who didn’t hesitate to reply: “Bring him home!” ” ” The couple was ready to adopt Joey, with only one obstacle in the way.

Animal Care Centers informed Officer Pascale that Joey had to undergo a mandatory 72-hour hold. This waiting period ensures that even abandoned or abused animals have the opportunity to be reunited with their owners. Despite their excitement about adopting Joey, Pascale and his wife understood the importance of this waiting period.
