However according to an article by Los Tiempos these photographs were actually taken by photographer Luis Fernando Chumacero in Tupiza, Bolivia during the quarantine period. The military vehicle seen in the pictures was conducting patrols to ensure compliance with health regulations.h-a-n-h

As for the canine companion named Gorda she is not a stray roaming the streets but rather a cherished member of the barracks. Each unit of soldiers adopts dogs who live and train alongside them.h-a-n-h

Colonel Luis Pacheco, Director of Army Logistics IV Department explained that Gorda holds a place as an emblem, for their division. When the Covid 19 pandemic began Gorda started following pandemic troops during their patrols out of her own accord.

When the soldiers, in the vehicle noticed how eager he was to come they quickly grabbed his “brother”. Followed suit. It was by chance that the photographers camera captured this scene.

Just as Gorda hopped into the vehicle another grey dog swiftly ran over. Joined in. This other dog goes by the name Multicam. Serves as the mascot, for a division.h-a-n-h
