When an animal arrives in a shelter, it is easy for it to stay there for the rest of its life. Unfortunately, there are many stray or abandoned dogs and cats in the world, and the facilities that take them in are not infinite. This is why when they believe that the animal is weak, old or seriously injured, and that it has no chance of being rehabilitated, they resort to euthanasia.
Robin, a very sweet dog, was wandering the streets limping when he was picked up and taken to a shelter. Here, due to the probable injury to his leg, they decided that he had no chance of being adopted and opted for the only solution possible for them, euthanasia. His fate seemed sealed but only five minutes before he was put down he was saved by a group of volunteers from the Vet Ranch!
Robin was taken by volunteers to the Vet Ranch, a non-profit organization that treats stray animals to prevent them from being put down, and was left in the care of veterinarians. At first he was tense and scared, but when he realized he was safe his attitude changed completely. He turned out to be sweet and friendly. After a thorough examination, Dr. Karri realized that the injury was not that serious and that he could be treated safely.
At one point, all the fear Robin had felt seemed to vanish and to show his gratitude he gave a warm hug to the vet who had taken care of him. In the hug, the dog felt as safe as in his mother’s arms and his eyes shone with happiness and relief.
Today, Robin is still at the Vet Ranch and the volunteers are taking care of him while waiting for his adoption. Congratulations to the rescue group and the vets who treated him, because thanks to them Robin has a new chance, and we hope he finds a home soon and can live the happy life he deserves!
