Mr. Gao Baiqi, a farmer in Linyi city, Shandong province, China, was astounded to discover a piglet with two trunks and eight legs on the same body.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before,” said Gao. Even though he attempted to segregate the deformed pig from the herd for convenience’s sake, the animal convulsed and perished within minutes of birth.
The malformed mammal perished shortly after delivery.
Mr. Baiqi remarked, “I even prepared milk to feed him, but the animal died within a few minutes.”
There is still no conclusive explanation for why this piglet has such an odd appearance. Numerous scientists believe that the animals are actually two identical twins who were unable to separate due to a mutation, similar to the case of conjoined twins in humans.
