In a recent interview, 50 Cent opened up about his views on the current state of his former G-Unit member Lloyd Banks’ solo career. It’s clear that 50 isn’t particularly impressed with how things have been progressing for Banks in the music scene.
When asked about his relationship with other G-Unit alumni and whether he’d consider performing with them again, 50 was quick to shut the idea down. “That’s over. Not for that,” he said firmly, making it clear that those collaborations are a thing of the past.
The conversation then shifted to Lloyd Banks and his work in the underground music scene. While acknowledging the quality of Banks’ recent projects, 50 expressed disappointment in the lack of commercial support.
“He’s put out some great bodies of work,” 50 admitted, but added, “I wish people would buy it more. They say they want that kind of hip-hop, but when they get it, do they actually go out and buy it?”
50 highlighted a recurring issue in the industry: while many fans claim to support traditional, lyrical hip-hop, their enthusiasm doesn’t always translate into album sales or streams.
