The Story of Tiao Tiao: A Miracle of Resilience

Two months ago, we rescued a little dog from the pouring rain. He was soaking wet, with a massive wound on his leg, where the skin and flesh were infested with maggots. Many people declared him as good as “dead,” believing his condition was beyond saving.

But when we looked at this little soul, we saw something else: a will to live. Even a stray dog doesn’t give up on itself, and we weren’t willing to give up on him either.

Today, this brave little dog has changed so much. His once-sparse fur has grown back, and the severe wound on his leg—where the bone was once exposed—has completely healed. Though the injury was severe, leaving him unable to walk upright on his hind legs like other dogs, his tenacity remains unshaken.

It’s been over two months since we brought him home and named him Tiao Tiao, meaning “Jump.” When we first found him, his leg bones were bare, and many doubted he could ever recover. But day by day, with care and patience, Tiao Tiao has made a miraculous recovery. If you saw him now, you’d never believe how dire his condition once was.

Although he still can’t jump or run like other dogs, we hold on to the hope that one day, he will. His name symbolizes our belief in his ability to overcome and thrive.

Tiao Tiao’s journey has been nothing short of a miracle. Despite the doubts and challenges, we stood firm in our decision to save him. Watching his transformation reminds us of the resilience of life and the power of compassion.
