Originally set for release in 2020, the film was delayed until September 17, 2021. However, actor Armie Hammer faced controversy earlier this year, leading to his removal from the Jennifer Lopez film Shotgun Wedding. Armie Hammer addressed the allegations on Jan. 14 by stating, “I’m not going to respond to these claims, but with all the online attacks against me, I can’t leave my kids for 4 months to film in the Dominican Republic.” The Los Angeles police have started an investigation into rape claims made against Hammer after a former partner filed a complaint.
