Aaron Rodgers takes blame for loss as Jets get embarrassed against Bo Nix and Broncos
On Sunday, Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets’ two-game winning streak ended as Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos beat them 10-9 at MetLife Stadium in dire weather conditions.
The pouring rain made it difficult for both teams to find any rhythm in the passing game, resulting in a low-scoring encounter. The Jets had a chance to win the game on the final possession with a 50-yard field goal, but kicker Greg Zuerlein couldn’t kick it through the uprights.
Despite the disappointing end, Rodgers refused to blame the kicker or the defense and instead took responsibility for the loss. During his postgame press conference, the veteran quarterback said:
“When your defense holds them to 10, you’ve got to win the game 100% of the time. That’s on the offense, that’s on me. Not good enough.”
Given the circumstances, the 40-year-old had a decent outing, completing 24 of his 42 passes for 225 yards and rushing for 26 yards on five carries. However, he hasn’t had a particularly notable campaign so far.
