Jalen Williams responds to fathead decals of him and Chet Holmgren at Norman for ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’
OKC Thunder stars Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren have become beloved of fans all throughout Oklahoma. On Saturday morning, before Oklahoma squared off with Tennessee in college football, NBA fans noticed that NCAA fans in attendance had printed photos of Williams and Holmgren’s faces.
In a video posted to X, by NCAA on-air commentator Kirk Herbstreit, fans could see a cutout of Jalen Williams being held by fans. One fan managed to get a screenshot of the fathead decal of Williams and posted it on social media.

In response, Williams put out a post, using Chet Holmgren’s popular phrase, as he wrote:
“That’s ode !”
The game is set to take place later today in Norman, Oklahoma, at 4:30 p.m. Pacific (7:30 p.m. Eastern) with the 15-ranked Oklahoma Sooners hosting the six-ranked Tennessee Volunteers.
Both the Sooners and the Volunteers are heading into the game with 3-0 records so far this season.
Jalen Williams was recently featured as keynote speaker at Oklahoma Gala
Ahead of the start of the NBA season, Jalen Williams was recently featured as the keynote speaker at the Champions of Health Gala in Tulsa, Oklahoma, earlier this week.
The event took place at the Cox Business Convention Center in Oklahoma. Williams took pictures and signed autographs for fans before then taking the stage and speaking to those in attendance.
The event was held in collaboration with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, with the intention of fundraising to get kids across Oklahoma access to medical services.
While Williams’ keynote speech wasn’t made available to fans online, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Director of Community Relations spoke about the event with Fox23. He indicated just how important it was for the youth of Oklahoma.
Now, Williams and the OKC Thunder will shift their focus to the 2024-25 NBA season ahead of the tip-off of preseason action on Oct. 7, when the Thunder will face San Antonio Spurs.
From there, the team will then shift its focus to the start of the regular season, which will begin on Oct. 24 with an away game against the Denver Nuggets. The Thunder’s young core will look to build on last season and make waves in the Western Conference.
After a big sophomore season, which saw Williams cement himself as an elite talent, expectations are sky-high for the Thunder heading into the 2024-25 NBA season.
