In a rare occasion outside of the NBA All-Star, two of Europe’s top basketball stars today, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic, will be teammates in a special match.
In the 2023-24 season, the NBA said goodbye to one of the league’s veteran guards, Goran Dragić. The Slovenian player announced his retirement after 15 years in the NBA, retiring from basketball at the age of 38.
However, before hanging up his shoes, Luka Doncic’s senior will enter a special match called ‘Night of The Dragon’.
This is an All-Star game with two teams of current and former NBA stars, for charity.
Luka Doncic will headline a lineup that includes him along with Nikola Jokic, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Robin Lopez, former NBA player Luis Scola, legend Dirk Nowitzki and many more.
Facing “Team Luka” will be Dragic’s own team consisting of himself, legend Steve Nash, center Nikola Vucevic, NBA champion Chris Bosh and Goran’s younger brother Zoran Dragic.
Although it is just a friendly match, this match promises many beautiful moves and is interspersed with entertaining “comedic” situations from both sides.
Before retiring, Goran Dragic played the entire 2022-23 season for the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks.
He was named to the 2018 NBA All-Star team while with the Miami Heat, and has played for the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, and Toronto Raptors.
Dragic averaged 13.3 points and 4.7 assists per game in the NBA throughout his career. With his national team, “The Dragon” was a 2017 FIBA EuroBasket champion with Slovenia.
