This delightful bird, described by Charles Patrick Ewing as the silver-beaked tanager, is sure to captivate you. With a weight of only about 25 grams and a length of approximately 18 cm, these winged beings are far from gigantic.
A deep cinnamon neck and breаst, adorned with velvety dark feathers, will greet you when you see an adult male. Although it has a black upper beak, what really draws your eye is the larger bottom beak, which shines like a lighthouse in the dark! During their mating season, you may easily spot them because their bill points upwards to show their affection.
